Welcome To Market Bargains Interview

Name of your website?

Welcome To Market Bargains

Your name?

Warren

Your Location (city, etc)

Camp Springs (Temple Hills)

Please give us a short summary of your website?

The "mini-mall" with Flea Market prices. Something for everyone of every age and every taste! If you can't find it here then maybe you're not looking hard enough.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

When visitors come into Prince George's County, they usually want to find really good shopping venues with very reasonable prices. Therefore I saw it fit to accomodate them. Plus, this is the age of technology. If one has a business, it would be a good idea for one to have a website or webpage to let people know of that business's existence.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

As a matter of fact, this is the first "real" website which I have launched. I have done smaller ones in my younger days which were more of the "link farm" variety.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Well, this business is called "The Market" and is chock full of bargains! Henceforth, "Market Bargains" was born. People all over look out for bargains and I just want to look out for the people.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I truly care about our customers!

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To be honest with you, my main eventual goal is to increase business and to ensure the prosperity of all of the vendors here at "The Market". I want the customers to be happy and satisfied as well as leave out of the building with smiles on their faces.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It is time and money well spent! Success is measured only by the amount of effort that one puts forth in things other than materialistic gain.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I wouldn't. As long as I am honest and can be of service to others . . . I am happy!

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Sure! Being able to keep up with demand not only comes with the territory but is the mark of a successful business venture!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None. All things are to be expected when going into business. The pains, the heartaches, the headaches, the joy. They all make business worthwhile.

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge (as I am sure it is with any business) is advertising.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

In my opinion, Word-of-Mouth is the best form of promotion. A "Domino effect" begins when you let one person know that you are up and running! At least it has worked wonders for me.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

The true businessperson (if they are to have any success) never goes into business with any expectations. It is best to keep an open-mind, do the best that you can and just let things happen. That's my philosophy!

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

As long as I have the will to survive shall I keep my site alive. You should never quit. It's at the time that you quit or threaten to quit, you realize that you should have gone that extra mile!

What advice do you have to give to people who wish to start their own business?

Pray on it first. Cause it ain't for everybody. If you decide that it's right for you, go for it! Just make sure you've got your act together and don't quit just because you don't make a million dollars your first day in! Be patient and wait it out!!!

What is your website address?
