Name of your website?

AuctionBidz online auctions

Your name?

Alex Elbaff

Your Location (city, etc)

Sydney

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Australian online marketplace primarily setup as an ebay alternative. Free to sell with no fees or charges at all.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Ebay is getting too greedy and we just wanted to give people a cheaper alternative to sell online.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Originally launched in 2006 but after a database loss we had to start from scratch and re-launched AuctionBidz in september 2007.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It sounded good and descriptive of what the site was all about

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We are cheaper to use and our customer service is second to none.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our goal would be to run the most succesful online auction in Australia and ebay would be a thing of the past.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Up until now it has and is costing a good deal of money to run and maintain the site.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Better seller tools, bigger advertising.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, Deifinetly.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Mainly regular upgrades and a loss of database last year.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting new users/members aboard.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Definitely Google

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is alot harder than I thought and very tme consuming and costly.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Since our re-launch in september about 8 months, will keep it going indefinitely at this stage.

Will AuctionBidz Succeed.

Definitely Yes!lol.

What is your website address?

AuctionBidz online auctions
